Impress without the Stress!
Need some easy finger food suggestions for those Christmas party nights? Whether you're hosting or taking a dish along, here are some of our favourites!
Merry almost Christmas to all! x
Christmas Tree Pull-apart Bread
My Tips:
Weigh doughball pieces: The #1 tip for a neat tree. Uneven doughballs bake unevenly.
Leave small gaps between doughballs - they expand & fuse during baking.
Chill the shaped tree for 10 minutes before baking - this helps keep definition.
Cheese Straws
My Tips:
Add a little milk (20ml) before mix, I just prefer the consistency!
Cut pastry into rounds rather than strips. Lovely to dip into a small cup of hot soup.
Top with chilli flakes or Nigella seeds, before baking, that's up to you!
Whipped Feta and Mascarpone with Chilli Sesame Honey
My Tip:
Drizzle a little of the hot honey on top & add flakes to serve. And keep remaining hot honey in a warmed small jug & top up as required!
Hot Artichoke Dip
My Tips:
Make it a day ahead, keep in the fridge & heat before serving.
For extra creaminess, add 2 tbsp sour cream (more!) before baking
If the dip looks thick in the bowl, that’s good, it loosens as it bakes.
Bake in a shallow dish, you'll get more of that delicious cheesy topping!
Vegetarian Sausage Rolls
My Tips:
Hide 75g extra blitzed veg (courgette/ mushrooms) to the mix, but make sure to squeeze all moisture (a tea towel works) or you'll get soggy pastry!
Add 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
Yes, homemade puff pastry's best, but it's ok to use shop bought sometimes!
Mini Crab Cakes with Coriander Paste
My Tips:
Make in advance, serve warm or cold.
Drain the canned crab fully!
After shaping, refrigerate for 10 mins or so, to retain their shape.
Air fry (180 degrees for 10-12 mins), instead of shallow frying in oil.
Broccoli and Bacon Tarts
My Tips:
Make in advance & keep in an airtight container in the fridge.
Great hot or cold (a lovely lunchbox option too!)
Festive Camembert Wreath
A bit fiddly, but definitely worth it, it's a bit of a wow!
Hope you get a bit of inspiration from these. If you'd like to find out more, join an online cook class, refer a friend or book a call to discuss how you can get a Thermomix TM7 - just get in touch on the link below!
